We’re recognized for delighting our customers with excellent service. As our brand’s friendly face in store, you’ll foster our reputation by assisting each customer find just what they need – that real M&S experience as well as the perfect product.
You could see yourself interacting food or fashion, boots, lingerie or luggage, shoes or beyond. In some roles, you’ll specialize; developing your knowledge and displaying your expertise in a certain area. Over time you will see yourself working throughout the store experiencing all that M&S has to offer and growing your skills and experience. Wherever you join us, the vital thing is assisting customers to find and fall in love with our products.
You’ll also use your product knowledge to help customers select what’s best for them – something that we’ll support you with when you join us, thanks to our PACE plan. You’ll be taught about Presentation, Commerciality, Availability, and Experience, including to receive tools and support you need to be successful in your role – either out on the shop floor or liaising with customers on the tills.
You could also direct them beyond the store. We’ve opened an inspiring interactive shopping experience throughout two-thirds of our stores now. So directing our customers across our multi-channel offer will be accessible to you.
Being a Customer Assistant is all about being approachable, helpful and knowledgeable. You’ll require the energy and positive outlook to be at your optimal performance while on your feet all day, assisting customers to get the very most from their experience with M&S. You should be flexible, in your duties and the hours you work, to help provide our customers with the best experience we can.
Above all though, it will be your personal attention that customers will remember when they interact with you – so introduce lots of friendly enthusiasm and you would go far.
