Applications are welcomed for the above post in the School of Biosciences based at the Sutton Bonington Campus.

The Successful candidate(s) will help with planting, harvesting, curating, archiving and distributing seed as well as related materials which include bacterial and yeast clones at the Nottingham Arabidopsis Stock Center.

Applicants ought to have at least two A-Levels in relevant subjects which are expected to involve science or similar professional qualification (NVQ City and Guild) in addition to some important technical/scientific experience.

OR

Related work experience in an important technical or scientific position.

A degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, Biology or a related subject with plant science would be preferred

Candidates ought to be knowledgeable about plant handling/stock control and be eager to work in the glasshouse and low humidity storage environment just as the laboratory. They should demonstrate a skill for Molecular Biology and self-organization and should likewise be knowledgeable in using Excel, laboratory statistics and report writing. Proof of self-motivation, practical initiative, operational duty and demonstrated skill for teamwork will be preferred.

This is a full-time position (36.25 hours out of each week)

This post is immediately accessible and will be offered on a fixed-term contract until 31 October 2021.
